Blog Tour: Seduce The Darkness by Gena Showalter
Bride is a vampire and as far as she knows, the only one of her kind. She's desperate to find someone like her so that she can understand herself. Her only true friend and the most special person in the world to her Aleaha, has vanished and Bride is on a mission to find her.
Devyn, who has sex written all over him, runs into Bride and soon becomes obsessed with her. He's not one to be tied down so he's enamored with Bride and furious with her all at the same time. They are both stubborn and try to deny the mutual attraction.
There is one slight problem. There is a Queen alien who plans to pass on her deadly infection to the people of Earth. Can Bride and Devyn keep their passion and tempers at bay long enough to save their planet?

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory
Knight of Desire tells the story of a young woman, Catherine, who is forced to wed a violent man. When she has had enough of his behavior, she betrays him and sends word to the king that her husband is a traitor. Her husband is captured and killed. The king has decided to let Catherine's fate and her home lay in William's hands. He has given William the choice between sending Catherine to the tower which would undoubtedly result in her death or wedding her the very same day she became a widow. William is an extremely honorable man and decides to take Catherine as his wife.
This book is filled with romance, lust, love and betrayal. I loved this book! If you enjoy Historical Romance, this is a MUST READ!

AUTHOR BIO (taken from here):
MARGARET MALLORY recently surprised her friends and family by abandoning her legal career-and her steady job-to write tales of romance and adventure. At long last, she can satisfy her passion for justice by punishing the bad and rewarding the worthy-in the pages of her novels, of course. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband and their two college-age children. KNIGHT OF DESIRE is her first book so she would dearly love to hear from readers.
You can visit Margaret's site here.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: My Forbidden Desire by Carolyn Jewel

Alexandrine has just found out that her brother, Harsh, is still alive. He's got some very unpleasant news for his sister. Her birth father wants her dead. Harsh decides to make his friend Xia stay with her as her protector. The only problem is Xia hates witches with a passion but not nearly as much as he hates Alexandrine's father who enslaved him.
Alexandrine and Xia both fight their desires for one another but in the end are unable to help themselves. They fall deeply for one another and end up making some mistakes that may be irreversible.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you like Paranormal Romance then this is a great book to add to your to be read list.

Children's Book Review: The Adventures of Snip in Oregon
This is a family story and the adventures they have together with their dog Snip. He has a couple face off's with different animals. One of which is a skunk, so you can imagine how that went. Snip helps teach John to drive and even enters some competitions. You can tell right off that Snip is not a pet, he is a member of the family.
I read this story to my nephew, Damien, who will be 2 in October and being a dog lover, I felt confident he would enjoy it. Even at his young age he shares the same passion for books I have. This story teaches about the love that can be shared between a human and an animal. It's a beautiful thing that not everyone has the chance to experience. If you have a child who adores animals, you should pick up this delightful book and read it to them.
I would like to thank the author Betty and Bostick Communications for sending me this book to review.

Giveaway: God Will Do The Rest by Catherine Galasso-Vigorito

Book Information (taken from here):
'The Key to the Kingdom of Heaven is also our Key to Happiness on Earth." Not only does Catherine Galasso believe this. . . her life is living proof of it. In GOD WILL DO THE REST, she explores seven qualities that have shaped her daily life and her life's mission: faith, love, persistence, hope, optimism, gratitude and forgiveness.
Using stories from her own life experiences and inspiring principles from the Bible, Catherine encourages readers to take one step at a time down the pathway toward a richer and more meaningful future--one that affirms "I will do more than survive--I will thrive!"
Catherine takes each key and through engaging examples explains the importance of that key, how to apply it, and the ways in which it will enrich readers' lives. She shows readers how to seize the struggles that come with each day and to turn them into opportunities for growth, joy, and peace.

Review: Skin Free products
Skin Free was designed for people who suffer from various skin conditions. Skin Free products are 100% natural & 100% non-toxic.
OMG!! Julie from Skin Free sent me an email a week ago asking me to review the products they offer. Of course I said yes because I have a horrible time finding skin care products and have heard really great things about their line. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin. The majority of products I have tried break me out in little itchy bumps because I'm have issues with skin allergies. I've tried Neutrogena, Almay, all kinds of products that are dermatologist recommended and still broke out in the itchy bumps. When I took my shower I could immediately feel it moisturizing my skin. The body scrub was heaven. One of my elbows has always been dry, cracked and covered with a red blotch that rises higher than the skin around it. I've used vaseline to try to take away the cracking pain and even that didn't help. One shower with Skin Free took it away. I wanted to take before and after pictures but my camera isn't working. I can't believe how great my skin looks and feels. Skin Free, I'm your #1 fan!
I'll be adding to this review because my mom & nephew suffer from eczema and are going to let me know how it works for them but I couldn't wait to share my thoughts about this heavenly body care line! If this works for me, I'm confident it will do the same for you.
Here are the products that I used:

Giveaway: My Name Is Will by Jess Winfield

Full Description (taken from here):
"Utterly delicious, original, witty, hilarious and
brilliant. Shakespeare In Love on magic mushrooms. The Bard has
never been this much fun."
-Christopher Buckley, author of Boomsday and Thank You For Smoking
A Tale of two Shakespeares...
Struggling UC Santa Cruz grad student Willie Shakespeare Greenberg is trying to
write his thesis about the Bard. Kind of...
Cut off by his father for laziness, and desperate for dough, Willie agrees to
deliver a single giant, psychedelic mushroom to a mysterious collector, making
himself an unwitting target in Ronald Reagan's War on Drugs.
Meanwhile, would-be playwright (and oppressed Catholic) William Shakespeare is
eighteen years old and stuck teaching Latin in the boondocks of Stratford-upon-Avon. The future Bard's life is turned
upside down when a stranger entrusts him with a sacred relic from Rome... This, at a time
when adherents of the "Old Faith" are being hanged, drawn, and
quartered as traitors.
Seemingly separated in time and place, the lives of Willie and William begin to
intersect in curious ways, from harrowing encounters with the law (and a few
ex-girlfriends) to dubious experiments with mind-altering substances. Their
misadventures could be dismissed as youthful folly. But wise or foolish, the
bold choices they make will shape not only the 'Shakespeare' each is destined
to come... but the very course of history itself.

Giveaway: Off Season
Full Description (taken from here):
Acclaimed novelist Anne Rivers Siddons's new novel is a stunning tale of love and loss.
For as long as she can remember, they were Cam and Lilly--happily married, totally in love with each other, parents of a beautiful family, and partners in life. Then, after decades of marriage, it ended as every great love story does...in loss. After Cam's death, Lilly takes a lone road trip to her and Cam's favorite spot on the remote coast of Maine, the place where they fell in love over and over again, where their ghosts still dance. There, she looks hard to her past--to a first love that ended in tragedy; to falling in love with Cam; to a marriage filled with exuberance, sheer life, and safety-- to try to figure out her future.
It is a journey begun with tender memories and culminating in a revelation that will make Lilly re-evaluate everything she thought was true about her husband and her marriage.

Giveaway: The Juror audio
Full Description (taken from here):
Annie Laird is Juror 224. A sculptor with a career going nowhere. A single mother struggling to raise a son. A good citizen who has been summoned to what looks like a rountine tour of civic duty. But the trial she is called to serve on is no ordinary trial. It is a mob trial, whose outcome has been meticulously orchestrated by a man of insidious power and deadly precision. A man who lives by the teachings of Lao Tsu...whose magnetism is irresistible...whose mind is as brilliant as it is twisted. He is know to some as the Teacher, and he's set his sights on Annie Laird.
Pulled into the most chilling depths of the criminal underworld, Annie will be seduced by double-edged promises, stalked by the spector of terror, then, finally, driven to a shocking decision by the most basic motivation a woman can know. THE JUROR is a tour de force of crime and obsession, evil and innocence -- a story that taps into fears so primal they linger long after the last page has been read.

Full Description (takin from here):
Sarah Harper is driven, pursuing happiness in all the wrong places. She wants to do good and not hurt the people she loves, including her son, Mitchell, and her husband, Joe. But her drive to succeed overrides all else.
It's not until she faces a chance encounter with heaven and spends time with the grandmother who prayed for her every day when she was a little girl that she begins to see how her own mother's bitterness created a hole in Sarah's life--a hole she has been trying to overcome for as long as she can remember.
For the first time, Sarah sees that God created her for a special purpose. When Sarah returns to her own life, she is a woman with a mission. And the unsuspecting world around her will never be the same again.

Giveaway: The Bourne Deception audio book
Full Description (taken from here):
The Bourne Deception picks up where The Bourne Sanction left off. Jason Bourne's nemesis Arkadin is still hot on his trail and the two continue their struggle, reversing roles of hunter and hunted. When Bourne is ambushed and badly wounded, he fakes his death and goes into hiding. In safety, he takes on a new identity, and begins a mission to find out who tried to assassinate him. Jason begins to question who he really is, how much of him is tied up in the Bourne identity, and what he would become if that was suddenly taken away from him.
Meanwhile, an American passenger airliner is shot down over Egypt by what seems to be an Iranian missile. A massive global investigative team is assembled to get at the truth of the situation before it can all escalate into an international scandal.
Jason Bourne's search for the man who shot him intersects with the search for the people or the group that brought down the airliner, which leads Bourne into one of the most deadly and challenging situations in his entire life.
With the threat of a new world war brewing, Bourne finds himself in a race against time to uncover the truth and find the person behind his assault, all the while being stalked by his unknown nemesis.

Confessions of a Shopaholic on DVD
My husband and I just watched Confessions of a Shopaholic on DVD and I loved it. I really enjoyed the books when I read them a few years ago so this was a must see movie for me. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies because they remind me of my relationship with my husband. If you like that sort of thing and haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it.
Giveaway: Year of the Cock by Alan Wieder
Full Description (taken from here):
From a powerful new voice in nonfiction comes this electrifying chronicle of a married man who leaves his wife to pursue a carefree bachelorhood - only to plunge into an abyss of shame, regret, and penis envy.
Thirty-year-old Alan Wieder has everything a man could possibly want: a nice home in L.A., a thriving Hollywood career, and to top it all off, a beautiful and adoring wife. Then one day in 2005 - the Year of the Rooster - he wakes up with questions: Have I settled down too soon? Am I consigned to a humdrum future of marriage, kiddies, home-cooked meals and hybrid SUVs? How the %&! did this happen to me?
And just like that - after ten years in a committed relationship - Alan decides to walk out on his wife to pursue his fantasy of becoming a hardcore bachelor. Explaining very little, thinking even less, he dives into his exhilarating new single existence - buying a vintage Porsche, moving into a tastefully decorated bachelor pad, ignoring his wife, and bedding as many chicks as possible. However, to Alan's surprise and dismay, becoming a single dude also unleashes in him a torrent of crippling insecurities that he didn't even know he had. And soon, his would-be swingin' bachelorhood is cut short - very short - by a strange and shameful obsession that drives him to utter madness.
Some men leave their wives only to discover that the grass isn't greener. What Alan Wieder discovers - about the perils of newfound freedom, and about his own fragile male psyche - is far more agonizing and wretched. In this riveting and brutally honest memoir, Alan recounts the true story of his impulsive, wild, and ultimately disastrous foray into bachelorhood. A tragicomic tale of betrayal, sexual (mis)adventure, and ultimately redemption, Year of the Cock marks the debut of a remarkably talented new writer.

Giveaway: The Woman Who Named God by Charlotte Gordon
Full Description (taken from here):
The saga of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar is the tale of origin for all three monotheistic faiths. Abraham must choose between two wives who have borne him two sons. One wife and son will share in his wealth and status, while the other two are exiled into the desert. Long a cornerstone of Western anxiety, the story chronicles a very famous and troubled family, and sheds light on the ongoing conflict between the Judeo-Christian and Islamic worlds.
How did this ancient story become one of the least understood and most frequently misinterpreted of our cultural myths? Gordon explores this legendary love triangle to give us a startling perspective on three biblical characters who--with their jealousies, passions, and doubts--actually behave like human beings.
THE WOMAN WHO NAMED GOD is a compelling, smart, and provocative take on one of the Bible's most intriguing and troubling love stories.

Review: The Sacred Sin by Estevan Vega
Jude Foster, a detective, has just been assigned a new case and a new partner. Jude doesn't play nicely with others. His previous partner, Morgan Cross, tried to kill him, so you can see why he has trouble trusting. Jude's not sure which situation is worse, being partnered with Rachel or the fact that a killer is on the loose who kills his victims without touching them. How do you track down pure evil that doesn't leave behind any clues? It seems that when each dead body turns up, they are faced with more questions than answers. Can they crack the case before it's too late?
I have to start by saying that I'm not easily scared. When I was 14 I would walk up to the video store at 10 o'clock at night, rent a few scary movies and then watch them by myself in my bedroom with the lights off. I still to this day don't know many people who could do that as an adult, let alone a teen. Anyway, it takes a lot to scare me or even creep me out. I have to admit that parts of this book freaked me out. Needless to say I'll definitely be checking out "Servant of the Realm".
**WARNING: child abuse**

Giveaway: $20 Per Gallon by Christopher Steiner
Full Description (taken from here):
Imagine an everyday world in which the price of gasoline (and oil) continues to go up, and up, and up. Think about the immediate impact that would have on our lives.
Of course, everybody already knows how about gasoline has affected our driving habits. People can't wait to junk their gas-guzzling SUVs for a new Prius. But there are more, not-so-obvious changes on the horizon that Chris Steiner tracks brilliantly in this provocative work.
Consider the following societal changes: people who own homes in far-off suburbs will soon realize that there's no longer any market for their houses (reason: nobody wants to live too far away because it's too expensive to commute to work). Telecommuting will begin to expand rapidly. Trains will become the mode of national transportation (as it used to be) as the price of flying becomes prohibitive. Families will begin to migrate southward as the price of heating northern homes in the winter is too pricey. Cheap everyday items that are comprised of plastic will go away because of the rising price to produce them (plastic is derived from oil). And this is just the beginning of a huge and overwhelming domino effect that our way of life will undergo in the years to come.
Steiner, an engineer by training before turning to journalism, sees how this simple but constant rise in oil and gas prices will totally re-structure our lifestyle. But what may be surprising to readers is that all of these changes may not be negative - but actually will usher in some new and very promising aspects of our society.
Steiner will probe how the liberation of technology and innovation, triggered by climbing gas prices, will change our lives. The book may start as an alarmist's exercise.... but don't be misled. The future will be exhilarating.
